The Rough Diamond Trail Project from Ryan Bair on Vimeo.

This event includes the traditional, mixed surface Rough Diamond Century (100 mile) route connecting the Rough Diamond trail network, and new this year we are offering a 30-mile trail ride along the Westmoreland Heritage and West Penn Trails. Both of these Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen rides include rest stops stocked with snacks, energy drinks, and water. SAG support will be provided by the generous folks at Thickbikes Southside Pittsburgh bike shop.

Registration is now open.  There will be a fee of $50 for the century ride and $35 for the 30-mile ride this year, which will include one year membership to the WPW. Proceeds of the event will go towards the development of the Turtle Creek Extension of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. For more information on the WHT development, please visit

There will be more details including routes in the coming weeks. Tentatively, the century ride will start at Pittsburgh Southside Riverfront Park, while the Trail ride will start at the Delmont trail head of the WHT.

If you would like to volunteer to help out with one of the rest stops, please send a private message on the facebook event page or to
