WPW Dirty Dozen Training Rides…
Each year the WPW has organized weekly training rides to acclimate interested riders to the steepest hills in Pittsburgh either for preparation for the Dirty Dozen (DD) race or just for the challenge. These training rides are not competitive and veteran DD riders share their tips and strategies for getting to the top of each hill. Riders are encouraged to bring a low-geared bike.
WHEN? Most Saturdays in October-November:
Sat 11/4 and
COST? FREE to WPW Bike Club Members
Routes: Routes vary by week. In early October the rides are set to practice 3 hills. By the end of October, the training builds up to half of the DD route before a practice of the full-DD route in November prior to the race.
